It's for real!

Today was the first official OB visit for Baby Nash #2! Confirmation was obtained and lab tests were drawn. My progesterone level is 24 (anything greater than 12-15 is good) and my hCG level is 1889 which correlates to 6 or 6.5 weeks. Friday I will have another set of labs drawn to be sure everything is rising appropriately. Hopefully in 2 weeks we will have an ultrasound. I can't wait to see the little one and to confirm the place of implantation.

So that's the good news...now let me take you back to the last few days leading up to today's doctor visit.

It was New Year's Eve afternoon when I decided to pee on "the stick." The result was positive and I was absolutely giddy. Jason was not home from work yet, but I knew I wanted to tell him in person so I had to jump around in my bathroom full of excitement without him. Luckily Sydney was there to jump, dance, and laugh with me. When Jason pulled into the driveway, Sydney and I greeted him with the good news. He said "really" with a huge grin on his face. Our plan to spend New Year's Eve enjoying some wine and scrabble was put on the back burner. Instead we celebrated by relaxing in our PJ's and talking about the future.

The next few days were kind of a blur. I'll admit, I pee'd on a few more sticks just to confirm. I don't think it really sunk in for me until today. It also took a few days for the news to sink in with Jason too. I can't even count the number of times he offered to make me a latte or questioned why I didn't want any coffee.

It should be another amazing ride. I'll do my best to keep this blog updated, so check back!
